Packers vs Falcons: Scouting Report, Storylines and Useful Links

The NFC Championship Game between the Green Bay Packers and Atlanta Falcons is now just five days away. And yes, the wait is excruciating. But, it also means there is plenty of time to study up for Sunday.

If you want to learn about the Packers opponent, then you will want to read this scouting report by Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. McGinn not only gets in depth, he tops it off with opinions and thoughts from scouts and executives.

After learning more about the Falcons, take a look at this piece from Aaron Nagler of, who examines three storylines heading into the game. Nagler notes this Packers team is much different from the one that played Atlanta on Oct. 30. He also looks at how Aaron Rodgers and Mike McCarthy are chasing history.

Speaking of Rodgers, here is a great piece by Erik Goska, who looks at Rodgers spectacular record on the road in the playoffs. Not only does Rodgers have a 5-4 record to his credit, he also is the highest-rated passer to throw for at least 1,750 yards on the road in the postseason.

While McGinn offers an in-depth scouting report, you can dig even further into the X’s and O’s with Green Bay Packers Hall-of-Famer Leroy Butler, who breaks down the win over Dallas, as well as the Falcons with Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

And last but not least, check out this piece from Rob Demovsky of ESPN, who talks about how Julius Peppers doesn’t want this run to be all about him.

Furthermore, if you want something original, here is my post today on why Ha Ha Clinton-Dix needs to get to making big plays.
