The Green Bay Packers are loaded at Wide receiver — but now if you can believe it, they might be even better.
On Saturday morning, on the first day of full pads at the Packers’ 2015 training camp, rookie third-round draft pick Ty Montgomery turned heads and in particular grabbed the attention of Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy.
This latest tidbit comes from Packers.com:
“Ty’s a playmaker. It was good to see him back there. He’s fit in nicely on offense, made a few plays. He’s off to a good start,” Coach Mike McCarthy said of the rookie, who took a lot of reps as kickoff returner during special teams practice, and then distinguished himself as a receiver later in Saturday’s practice.
Montgomery was possibly the best return man in the 2015 NFL Draft and he is more than capable of contributing right away as Green Bay’s fourth wide receiver, which will simply give Aaron Rodgers and McCarthy another weapon in their already vast offensive arsenal.
Montgomery not only gives the Packers another threat on the outside, it will also give them a legit threat in the slot should he ever be needed.
Green Bay is loaded on offense but you can never have enough good players and teams that are constantly working to get better are the ones that eventually win championships.
